Pre-requirements to install Fedora on Android using termux
Before installing Fedora on Android you should know about the prerequisites that which applications are needed to be installed on your Android device.
1.andronix - linux on android
Andronix allows you to install Linux distributions on Android without root.Andronix uses proot to run Linux distributions on Android devices and uses termux as a terminal for Android. Andronix is available on Google play store.
2.Termux
Termux is a terminal emulator for Android and a Linux environment app .You don't need to root your phone to use termux, easily it can be used in a non rooted device.
Termux is available on Google Play Store but don't download it from here, you will get an older version of it on Play Store. Install F-Droid on your Android phone and download Termux from it. For more details visit How to download the latest version of Termux.
3.Minimum 2GB free space
minimum 2GB free space of your device will be required
3. Minimum 1GB high speed data
During the installation process a 600-700 MB file will be download ,so minimum 1GB high speed data will be required.
Install fedora on Android
Follow the steps given below to install fedora on Android
Step1
Open Google play store and install the andronix application from it on your Android device.
Open the andronix application, tab on the Fedora icon then press on the install option.
Select desktop environment as XFCE and copy the code.
Or you can copy the code from the section given below
Step2
Open your termux application then paste the command on it that we copied and press Enter.
wait for 20-30 minutes as multiple files will be downloaded and installed.
After successfully download and installed all the packages start the vnc server with the command
At first time it will ask you to set a password for it , Enter a simple password then press Y to save it.
Step3
Now open Google play store again and install the VNC viewer application from it.click on the plus(+) icon and set a connection by entering Address as localhost:1 and you can choose a name Fedora or anything else.
Press on the connect button and it will ask you to enter the password. Remember, here you have to enter the Same password which we have entered at step2. And then press on the ok button.
After connected successfully, you’ll see the GUI version of Fedora on your Android device.
How to stop the connection
To stop the connection go to the termux application and and enter the command given below to stop the connection.
Now you can start VNC server again with the command given below
here -geometry is used to adjust the window according to the screen size of the mobile.I am using 1508x720 according to my mobile screen size you can change it according to your mobile screen size.
